September 30, 2021 is historic, as it marks the first-ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour and remember the survivors of the residential schools, their families and communities. September 30 is also Orange Shirt Day, a day in which people all over Canada wear orange to promote that “Every Child Matters” and to remember ambassador, Phyllis Webstad’s story and experience in the residential school.

In honour of both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, all Dawson Group companies will change their logos as a reminder to take a moment of reflection. We are also encouraging all employees within our group to use this day to remember the harmful legacy of the residential school system in Canada and to think about how we can collectively bring action to reconciliation with Indigenous people as individuals and as an organization.

Please join us in honoring this important day and collectively taking action towards reconciliation with Indigenous people.
